Capability building encourages individuals and organisations to think creatively and foster a sense of ownership and empowerment. At ISSR, capability building is a cornerstone of our approach to collaboration, and we offer a range of tailored courses and custom initiatives to strengthen the skills and expertise of researchers, industry partners, and communities.

Investing in capability building is proven to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge exchange, which facilitates more effective operations, enhanced autonomy, and improved outcomes.

What we offer

ISSR is at the forefront of research and evaluation, and research translation. Drawing on this expertise, we provide short courses and workshops, and can tailor course content and capability training within projects to meet the unique needs of our partners.

  • Short courses: The ISSR Social Research Methods courses are ideal for professionals in government, non-government organisations, university staff and postgraduate students who want to learn more about social science methods and translate research into policy and practice.

  • Custom courses and capability training: We can create and deliver bespoke courses to meet your organisation’s training needs in research and evaluation, data analysis, and research translation.

  • Project-based capability training: ISSR can embed research and evaluation capability training in commissioned projects and work closely with your staff to build the relevant skills you require.

  • Networking: We offer opportunities for researchers and partners to connect, collaborate, and share insights to foster a community of practice around research and evaluation.
