Researcher biography

Dr Sarah Bennett is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Social Science and a Fellow of the Australia Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Children and Families. Sarah is an experimental criminologist with experience in running multi-site randomized controlled trials with police in Australia and the UK and is committed to evidence driven industry-research partnerships which directly informs policy and practice. Sarah develops and facilitates Evidence Based Policing/Practice workshops which provide police (and other organisations) with the foundations for leading research. Sarah's research interests include evidence based policing, procedural justice and legitimacy, restorative justice, pathways to preventing offending and the impact of crime on victims. Sarah is a Fellow of the Academy of Experimental Criminology (AEC) and recipient of the distinguished AEC Young Scholar Award and Nigel Walker Prize (Cambridge University).Sarah is invested in rigorous research projects and partnerships which directly inform policy and practice.
