Launch of the State of Early Learning Report

25 Nov 2019

Today's launch of the State of early learning in Australia 2019 report — released by the national Early Learning: Everyone Benefits campaign—provides the most comprehensive summary of the early childhood and education (ECEC) sector to date.

The campaign is supported by a coalition of Australia’s leading early childhood advocacy, research and service delivery organisations that have joined forces with parenting and community organisations to promote the benefits of quality early learning for all children and for our nation’s future prosperity.

The report nominates clear national goals and performance indicators to help track progress in the future. While the headline figures indicate strong national progress in early learning provision and quality, there are significant pockets of unmet needs, and problems associated with affordability and workforce planning.

Congratulations to the report's lead authors Professor Karen Thorpe and Dr Sally Staton
