Researcher Biography
Prior to starting her MPhil, Ruth worked for the Australian Government in a broad range of social policy areas, including the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, as well as the Indigenous Affairs, Arts, Health, Education and Employment portfolios. She has extensive experience advising governments on women’s workforce participation and gender considerations in the development of a number of government policies. While working in government Ruth also collaborated with researchers to develop evidence-based options for government, and completed her master’s degree in social research methods.
Through her studies Ruth hopes to develop high level research skills that combined with her government experience, will provide opportunities to work in social research, particularly on projects which help inform future public policy outcomes.
