Renee Zahnow is a research fellow at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She conducts research on the physical and social aspects of urban spaces that influence offending, victimization and informal/formal regulation of public behavior. One major branch of her research focuses on alcohol related harm, drug use and violence in the night time economy. She has expertise in spatial and longitudinal analysis and has applied these expertise to examine spatio-temporal patterns of a range of social problems including crime, disorder, disaster effects and fire.

Currently Renee has an interest in applying her analytic expertise to examine patterns of drug use, in particular the use of HEDs (Human Enhancement Drugs, previously referred to as PIEDS) and the development of drug using trajectories over time in Australia and globally.
