After over 20 years in community service employment, I completed law studies with Social Justice majors (Indigenous Australians and Dispute Resolution) and a Dip.Ed. in Human Society and Its Environment. Since 2003, I have been employed by NSWDET as a teacher and since 2008 as an Aboriginal Education Resource Teacher supporting Aboriginal student engagement and supporting teachers to integrate Aboriginal content and perspectives across their teaching and learning programs. In 2010, I completed my M.Ed researching the perspectives of Aboriginal staff in five urban public schools on the topic of Aboriginal parent engagement. My current (narrative) research concerns principal leadership and aims to identify elements of successful practice that may be transferable across public school settings.
