I am a Senior Lecturer in Sociology in the School of Social Sciences and a Senior Research Fellow (Affiliate) in the Institute for Social Science Research and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course. I hold a PhD from Florida State University (FSU), an MSc from FSU, and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours from UQ.

My research examines the life course consequences of war and armed conflict. I am particularly interested in the long-term effects of war on families, including the intergenerational impact of war on the children of military personnel, refugees, and other civilians exposed to armed conflict. My current research projects include an investigation of the long-term effects of wartime military service by parents on the adult children of war veterans and a study of the factors influencing the successful integration of refugees.

My research has been published in journals such as Criminology, PLOS One, and the Journal of Marriage and Family.
